Herbal and vegetable plant starts at Pepé Fest booth by Growing Traditions

Selling Herbal Plant Starts and Sharing Healing Wisdom at Pepé Fest, May 18th

Herbal Plant Starts Are the Perfect Way to Begin Healing Naturally

In May, I had the opportunity to participate in Pepé Fest, a vibrant community event celebrating local creativity, wellness, and small business. I shared booth space with my daughters’ handmade business, Twin Lee, and together we welcomed a steady stream of festivalgoers curious about natural healing, handcrafted goods and garden-ready plants.

At my herbalist booth, I offered a diverse selection of herbal plant starts, vegetable seedlings and flowering plants — all carefully grown from seed using organic, sustainable methods. Each plant was labeled with its common name and basic use, and I was delighted to answer questions from customers about growing and using both culinary and medicinal herbs at home. Favorites included calendula, thyme, basil, lemon balm, feverfew and echinacea — all excellent choices for both beginners and seasoned gardeners. Many visitors shared their excitement about starting their own herb gardens and were especially drawn to the idea of incorporating herbal plant starts into their daily routines for food, health and natural beauty.

As a Master Herbalist and educator, I also enjoyed engaging conversations about traditional herbal remedies, natural healing practices and the many ways we can use herbs to support wellness in everyday life. For those interested in preparing herbal teas, salves or tinctures, I shared resources and encouragement — and invited them to connect through my educational workshops and website.

Pepé Fest was more than just a market — it was a space for meaningful dialogue, shared knowledge and renewed appreciation for the healing power of plants. Events like these remind me how many people are seeking to reconnect with rooted herbal wisdom and simple, effective remedies that have stood the test of time. Seeing so much enthusiasm for herbal plant starts gives me hope that more people are ready to take healing into their own hands — beginning right in the garden.

If you missed the event, you can still explore my offerings through my Herbal Booklets or sign up for updates about upcoming events and educational opportunities. I look forward to seeing you at the next community gathering!
