Apples, automobiles, potatoes and player pianos are a few of the many stories that relate to York County’s rich industrial heritage.
Directions: From Route 30 take North George Street into downtown York. Go through the square and make a right onto West Princess Street Go 2 1/2 blocks and the museum will be on your right. The parking lot is on your left.
Open: Tue – Sat 10am – 4pm. Closed major holidays (New Year’s Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas).

The 1719 Hans Herr House is the oldest standing structure in Lancaster County. It is the oldest Mennonite meeting house in the western hemisphere. The museum property boasts three distinct farmhouses, all built by descendants of Hans Herr, and a large collection of agricultural tools and machinery.

Landis Valley Museum

Landis Valley Museum is a nationally significant living history museum that
collects, conserves, exhibits and interprets Pennsylvania German material, culture and heritage. It offers the opportunity to tour over 15 on-site buildings as well as gardens and 2 farms. Farms include draft horses and a tradition of agriculture.
Directions: From Lancaster; Route 272 North (Oregon Pike), left onto Landis
Valley Road, parking in lot on right.

Mascot Roller Mills & Ressler Family House

Established by Ressler Mill Foundation as a museum complex after serving as a mill since the 18th century. All of the contents are original, including Roller Mill equipment installed in the 1900s. Post Office section also intact from earlier
time. Miller’s house kept just as the families left it.

Muddy Creek Forks Roller Mill

Since 1986, the Maryland and Pennsylvania Railroad Preservation Society has preserved and operated the village, consisting of a general store built in 1900, the Muddy Creek Forks Roller Mill and Elevator with its mill races, a milk collection
building, the cannery site, several old homes, and the last remaining railroad section house. Train rides and costumed docents take you back to the early 1900s in this hamlet.
Directions: Take Route 74 South of Red Lion to Brogue. Turn right on Muddy Creek Forks Road and continue 5 mi. to the Village at the railroad tracks. Or, take the Shrewsbury exit of I-83. Follow Route 581 East through Stewartstown
to New Park. Turn left on New Park Road, and follow it to the Village at the railroad tracks.

Rough and Tumble

Rough and Tumble began when steam threshermen and farm families got together after the crops were harvested to have a reunion and picnic. Games were
held and prizes awarded. These festivities attracted manufacturers and salesmen, who showed off their new models of labor-saving devices. They organized
the Pennsylvania Threshermen and Farmers’ Protective Association. As the days of the steam-powered traction engine came to a close, Threshermen’s Reunions
were held and eventually the Rough and Tumble Engineer Historical Association was formed.
Directions: Take Route 30 East to Lancaster. After the exit for Route 283, continue east on Route 30. Pass Dutch Wonderland on your left and proceed through the intersection with Route 896. After crossing the railroad bridge
in Paradise, proceed approximately 3.5 miles to Rough and Tumble, which will be on your left.
Open: Sat from May – Oct (gift shop is open the first Sat of each month from 10 am – 2pm. April – Time of Harvest).

Walk through the historic East Strasburg Station and the neighboring town of Strasburg, exploring the engines and rail cars up-close and take a ride through Amish farmland on fully restored trains.
Directions: Take Route 222 or Route 272 North from Maryland, turn from Route 222 onto Route 741 East, and follow this road through Strasburg
to the Strasburg Rail Road. From Lancaster; take 30 East to 896 South, turn left on Route 741 East to Strasburg Rail Road.

The Candy Americana Museum started out as a one-room museum and has expanded slowly. The kitchen features handmade chocolates being created right before your eyes.
Directions: Take PA Turnpike exit 266 (Lancaster/Lebanon). Turn right onto Route 72. Turn left onto East High Street. Continue on Doe Run Road, continue on West Lincoln Avenue. Turn right at North Broad Street (PA 501).
